Members of the Trinidad and Tobago Taxi Drivers Network protested at Library Corner, San Fernando to highlight what they described as unfair competition they have to cope with from PH drivers.

Legislation is scheduled to be brought before parliament soon in a bid to legalize PH taxi drivers.

It is a matter which had the input of former Transport Minister, Jack Warner who held discussions with concerned organizations on the issue.

However, maxi taxi operators are insisting that there is need for answers to the many questions they have on the move.

They are questioning the terms and regulations under which the PH drivers will operate.

President of the Taxi Drivers Network, Adrian Acosta, in an interview this afternoon said the livelihood of their members in Couva and other parts of the country are being affected by the irresponsible behaviour of PH drivers.

He said the organization plans to step up their action to have their concerns addressed by the Police Service.
