Protest today from Trinidad Cement Limited Workers outside the company’s main entrance at Claxton Bay.

Branch President of the TCL Local Branch of the Oilfield Workers Trade Union, Ackmed Mohammed, claimed that there are plans retrench between eighty and one hundred employees.

Mr. Mohammed in an interview with reporters said the company, which is now under new management, is carrying out the plan as part of its restructuring.

He said another issue of interest is the granting of job to foreigners when locals are capable of doing such.
