Ten men have been arrested over the $15 million jewellery heist, at the More Money Pawn Shop on Henry Street, Port of Spain last Sunday.
Five persons have since appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate, on charges relating to the robbery.
Speaking at this week’s Police Media Briefing, Superintendent Joanne Archie confirmed that four men were charged with, breaking and entering and one man with larceny.
Police said the robbers entered the pawn shop through the roof of the building, using drills and blow torches. They then stole gold and other precious metals from the vault. They also made off with the video-surveillance equipment.
Police officers have since recovered $1.4 million in jewellery, which was buried in the yard of two suspects.
The TTPS Public Information Officer said, the same suspects were also charged with breaking into neighbouring establishments in Port of Spain this year.
