Recent testing was done in 13 specific areas of the compound, and seven confirmed of having asbestos material, leaving the workers in fear about returning to work.
PTSC’s management and the union are working together to get the situation under control, and to ensure the safety of the workers.
Approximately 600 drivers had to be relocated to the Vehicle Management Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (VMCOTT) on the Beetham Highway, Port-of-Spain, due to 25 percent of asbestos found at their lobby.
The drivers will continue to operate out of that venue until the asbestos problem is rectifies.
