zika1-637085Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley yesterday said the law must be challenged at times so that the law become meaningful to situations.

He had been expressing his personal view on the abortion conversation that has been in the public domain since the Zika virus and its effects emerged.

In recent days, health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has stood fast to the law, saying that there will be no straying from the law when it comes to abortion.

The Prime Minister defended the minister yesterday, saying he is merely upholding the constitution.

The Prime Minister said he expects the conversation to continue.
