The agriculture sector has been the hardest hit with the recent flooding that has affected many throughout the country.
This is according to President of the Agricultural Society of Trinidad and Tobago, Dhano Sookoo.
Speaking with News Power Now on Wednesday she said that farmers have suffered great losses as a result of the massive flooding.
She said that the money that has been allocated by the Government to help persons affected by flooding does not begin to cover the losses suffered by the farmers.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture, Land and Fisheries, Clarence Rambarath has acknowledged that a lot of crops have been lost due to the flooding situation in various areas.
He gave an update on one farmer whose plight was posted to social media.
The Farmer’s cows were seen in a video trapped by flood waters unable to move.
