‘Global Entrepreneurship Week‘ emerged in 2008, an international initiative, spread over 7 days, to introduce the concept to (mostly) young people, through a range of related activities, involving everyone from those with ideas for a start-up, to mentors, policy-makers and potential investors. 2017 marks the 10th year of an effort meant to advance innovation and economic growth in over 170 countries. Looking ahead to the range of activities planned in Trinidad & Tobago between November 13th to 19th, are lead lecturer in management and entrepreneurship at the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts (COSTAATT) Ambica Medine, Gerard Thomas, founder/C.E.O. of Launch Rocket (which looks at creating business opportunities), Jennifer Gibbons-Joseph, of Conec Coaching, Ashley Mitchell, from the Enterprise Hub, the founder of Youth Entrepreneurship for Empowerment, Nicola Harvey.
Other guests include Makeisha Francis, maker of a line of skin care and natural hair products, graphic designer and photographer, Warren Le Platte, who created a ‘cultural’ board game, Tameika Fletcher-Birmingham, retail owner, and from series partners, the CARIRI Business Hatchery (which, began comprehensive 3-month training programmes in 2014), Desta Francis-Salazar and Fareeda Mungal
