The demolition of houses in the Matura area has haulted.
Sangre Grande Regional Corporation Chairman, Martin Terry Rondon, said while the exercise will be an ongoing one to eradicate illegal squatting, there has been no resumption this week.
Mr. Rondon sought to clear the air about the regional corporation’s responsibility.
He said the exercise started last Monday and  60 structures have been demolished by the relevant authorities.
He added while there are plans in place to regularize squatters who have been occupying lands for a number of years, he will not allow others to come in the area and do the wrong thing.
