The DPP to give instructions to the police on what action will be taken against the driver in Caura Junction vehicular tragedy

Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, is today expected to give instructions to the police as to what action should be taken against the driver of a car that crashed into the Palance Bar in Tunapuna on Tuesday.

The accident caused the deaths of 5 persons and injured 6 others at the bar

located on the corner of the Eastern Main Road and Caura Road.

The driver is reported to have failed a breathalizer test administered at the

Tunapuna police station.

He could be charged with 5 counts of causing death by dangerous driving

and other charges.

He remains under police guard at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences
