The Finance Minister yesterday said recent meetings with officials from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank were merely of a technical nature and had nothing to do with the imposition of economic measures.
There has been much opinion on the issue. On Thursday, at the post cabinet media conference, Minister Imbert made it clear that the only advice sought from the IMF were based on oil and gas taxation and transfer pricing.
He added that all other matters outlined, have been detailed to the World Bank with a request to be outfitted with experts to advise on the way forward.
