Education Minister, Anthony Garcia, is attempting to clarify misunderstands surrounding the impending changes to the GATE programme.
He is also seeking to validate the rationale for the decisions taken.
Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show today, Minister Garcia stated that the Government is adamant about making tertiary level education access to those in need of assistance to supplement the cost of tuition.
He explained in detail the specifications by which institutions and programmes will be deemed eligible for funding through GATE.
Minister Garcia discussed the economic constrains that have led to the new changes.
He also highlighted that it is in the best interest of the country’s future development to afford the youths the opportunity to acquire higher learning as opposed to older persons.
