On Saturday night, during a PNM cottage meeting address at Jarvis Street in Vistabella, People’s national Movement, PRO, Faris Al Rawi questioned the motive of an alleged death threat on the life of Opposition Leader, Dr. Keith Rowley.

In was only recently revealed that Dr. Rowley’s life has been threatened and his security detail increased as a direct result.

On Saturday, Al Rawi questioned who would want the Leader of the Opposition dead, further asking why the conspirators would so desperate to have this objective achieved. Highlighting that a $15 million bounty has been placed on Dr. Rowley’s head, Mr. Al Rawi brought into focus, the UNC’s ongoing No Rowley campaign which he said, has sought to assassinate the character of the Opposition Leader. He further noted that the latest scandal involving newspaper journalist, Anika Gumbs, ties in well and in perfect timing, in the UNC’s efforts to demonize the Opposition leader.

Mister Al Rawi then stated that the Prime Minister was in fact losing her popularity, pointing to an internal poll that showed that she was ten points behind Dr. Rowley. Al Rawi then asked his audience to ask themselves who would want Dr. Rowley dead.

Meanwhile, ILP leader, Jack Warner has indicated that he is aware of the situation and said the ILP and PNM had nothing to gain from the bounty.
