Prime Minister Kamla Persad Bissessar today defended her input in the United Nations Resolution against terrorism, during her stay in the United States last week. Speaking during this afternoon’s media briefing, the Prime Minister said she felt there was some level of misunderstanding in the government’s decision to co sponsor the resolution.
Mrs. Persad Bissessar said all 196 countries that make up the United Nations Family are now bound by this resolution against terrorism.
Noting that this country was invited to co sponsor the resolution by the United States, Mrs. Persad Bissessar reminded the nation that Trinidad and Tobago was possibly among the first nations to have experienced the effects of extremists.
