President of the United Farmer’s Association, Sheraz Khan says heavy rainfall has already had an impact on farmers this rainy season. Speaking with news Power now this morning, Khan said much more needs to be done by the regional corporations in clearing water courses  to alleviate the perennial problem.

Explaining that farmers do not have to seek licenses from the Water and sewage authority to pump water from rivers, at this time, since we are in the rainy season, Khan said he is however seeking legal advice on how farmers can obtain compensation from the utility when their agriculture is affected by flooding.

Meanwhile, commenting on the recent issue raised as it relates to the importation of what he coined unhealthy and unfit meat for consumption, the Farmers Association president said he anxiosuly awaits a meeting with the relevant authorities
