The Senate today paid tribute to Dana Seetahal Senior Counsel who was killed while driving her vehicle on Sunday morning as she made her way to her home at One Woodbrook Place.
Attorney General, Anand Ramlogan, on Tuesday afternoon, led off the tributes describing Ms. Seetahal as a friend, colleague and a woman of sound character. He said her untimely death has left a void in the legal fraternity.
Mr Ramlogan said Ms Seetahal was not afraid to stand alone for what she believed in, adding that she was always willing to share her expertise with others.
Meanwhile, there is an admission from Opposition Senator, Faris Al Rawi, that there is need for a closer and better relationship among politicians on the critical issue of crime.
Speaking in the Senate during the proceedings on Tuesday afternoon, Mr. Al Rawi noted the importance of both sides of the political divide uniting efforts to address the fight against lawlessness.
He also urged citizens to remain strong and positive in these challenging times, adding that the population should not live in fear.
