The Maracas Bay project is a priority. This is the affirmation of Tourism Minister, Shamfa Cudjoe. The minister, in an interview with News Power Now this morning said a meeting would have taken place on Friday and while she has not received a report just yet, she could confirm that remedial work has been taking place at the Maracas Bay beach facility in the interim of the appointment of new contractors to facilitate the project’s completion.
The Minister emphasized the importance of delivering a quality product, noting that she could not offer an estimated completion date, at this present time.
With the project still open for tendering among contractors, the Minister reiterated that the project has been broken up into three areas. She spoke of a matter involving the planned boardwalk under the previous plan, noting that because of issues such as this one, the entire plan for the project required the Ministry’s review.
