rough seas bulletinAccording to the Met office, these above normal marine conditions are the result of relatively strong winds which continue to agitate the surface of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea.

Over the next 12 to 24 hours, wave heights are forecast to be 2.5 metres, occasionally 3.0 metres in open waters.

The exposed coastlines of Trinidad will continue to be affected for at least the next 24 hours whereas for Tobago, the exposed coastlines will be affected for at least the next 48 hours.

Seas can be choppy at times in sheltered areas as well, particularly near Tobago.

Additionally, conditions may be exacerbated during high tide.

Small craft operators, sea bathers and all other marine interests are asked to exercise extreme caution in any sea related activities.

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service continues to closely monitor sea conditions.
