The Vice President of the Tobago Chamber says stakeholders are optimistic after a meeting with the Prime Minister this past weekend

Galicia cargo vesselThe Vice President of the Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce Demi John Cruikshank is today saying that Tobago stakeholders are optimistic after a meeting with the Prime Minister this past weekend.

He says that they were assured by Dr. Keith Rowley that the Government will do all that it can to treat with their situation in an expeditious manner.

The Galicia cargo vessel will sail for the final time this coming Friday.

Stakeholders have been concerned about an alternative after the vessel leaves.

Cruikshank told News Power Now this morning that the Prime Minister now has to wait on the Port Authority Board before any move is made.

He said that that they spoke openly with Dr. Rowley telling him how they felt about the barge option that was being offered.

Meanwhile…The Government of Trinidad and Tobago will do all that it can solve the issues facing Tobago stakeholders after the Galicia leaves.

That’s the assurance from Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley this morning.

He made the comments after a meeting with stakeholders over the weekend.

Speaking on CNC3’s Morning Brew Program today he said the Government of T&T would not be coerced.
