There is no shortage of the Yellow Fever vaccine in Trinidad and Tobago.

Terrence DeyalsinghThis is according to the Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh.

The World Health Organisation recently reported that a current outbreak of Yellow Fever in Angola and other nearby countries had resulted in a shortage of the vaccine. However, speaking to the media yesterday the Health Minister emphatically stated that there was no shortage of the Yellow Fever vaccine in T&T.

He went on to explain that some 56, 000 vaccines had been ordered for 2016.

He also articulated what the real problem was.

Persons seeking an international immunization card would have to produce proof that they received their vaccination card.

The Health Minister sought to clarify what options were available for those who misplaced their vaccination cards.
