Education Minister Anthony Garcia has confirmed that this year’s Secondary Entrance Assessment (SEA) results were leaked ahead of their official release on Tuesday.
Speaking with press on Tuesday afternoon, Garcia said that some schools knew of the results perhaps on Monday, or even before.
He has said that his Ministry is currently investigating where the leak originated, and revealed that he will be meeting with the Chief Education Officer and the staff of technical officers, to see what can be done to ensure this does not recur.
Garcia was also clear that the leak was with respect to the exam results, and that the exam itself was not affected or compromised in any way.
He noted that his Ministry is taking the situation very seriously, saying “Even if the leak is a small one, it is something thatis of very grave concern to us.”
