Bush fires in Tobago are posing challenges for Tobago’s fire officials.

Increased bush fires on the sister isle is posing a challenge to the Fire Services there.

Confirmation of this comes from Public Relations Officer of the Tobago Fire Services, David Thomas.

In an interview this week, Mr. Thomas explained that the significant hike in forest fires is pushing the service’s operation to the limit.

At a media conference this week, Acting Chief Fire Officer, Roosevelt Bruce, called on citizens to do their part to help reduce incidents of the bush fires. He urged the population to notify the service as quickly as possible when bush fires are observed.

Meanwhile , Minister of State in the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Ramona Ramdial, speaking at a news briefing outlined some of government’s plans  to address forest fires.
