Chairman of the Tobago Division of the TT Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Diane Hadad, is expressing frustration with the budget presentation, this following yesterday’s presentation of the Tobago Budget by Finance Secretary Joel Jack.
Speaking with News Power Now on Tuesday morning, Ms. Hadad said the presentation sought to sugar-coat the reality of the situation facing the island. She said the budget also did not highlight a solution to the current issues facing Tobago.
Ms. Hadad suggested that the figures seem unrealistic as Tobago never gets what it asks for from Central Government. The Chamber Chairwoman questioned how the THA could plan effectively if it put forward such an unrealistic budget figure. She said the private sector does not have confidence in the budget figures.
