Tobago records its third murder

The country’s murder toll has increased by three following murders in Laventille and Tobago.

NEWS GRAPHIC 3Police have identified the first two victims as 35 year old Otis John and his 22-year-old friend, Kerwin Jones.

The killing is believed to be in reprisal for the 2002 murder of 68-year-old Peter Bernard.

Reports stated that police were called to the area after receiving calls that gunmen were shooting in the area.

Upon arrival they found both men lying in a track just off the roadway.

They had been shot multiple times.

Over in Tobago, 43 year old taxi driver Dane Kent was found dead after he was reported missing two days ago.

The Speyside resident’s body was discovered in a patch of bush at approximately 5 P.M. on Thursday, near Mount Grace.

His killing brings the murder toll in Tobago to three.

No motive has been given for his killing.
