Police Commissioner, Gary Griffith, maintains that there was indeed a plot to destabilize the country yesterday. Speaking on the Power Breakfast Show on Power 102FM on Wednesday morning, Commissioner Griffith said the combined national security forces joined together however to put down the plan. He dismissed suggestions that the claim, which was first made by National Security Minister Stuart Young, was false.

Commissioner Griffith said intelligence was aligned with the facts. Another issue which has been brought to the fore as a result of the fallout is that of body cameras for police officers. Griffith said while he has authorised the use of body cameras, it is an expensive undertaking with the entire police service currently equipped with less than 200 body cams.
