Tourism Minister Shamfa Cudjoe indicates that over twenty thousand visitors went to the sister isle for the ninth edition of the Tobago Jazz Festival from the 22nd to 29th of May.

Minister Cudjoe informed that House of Representatives that based on survey reports by the research unit of the Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Tourism, Culture and Transportation visitor arrivals for the popular event was mainly from the domestic market.

She said data available so far for international visitors does not reflect the amount of arrivals of such persons before the Jazz Festival and those that would have stayed on after the event.

The parliament was told by Minister Cudjoe that at this time she was not in a position to give details relating to revenue generated from the Festival following the twelve million dollars spent by the state.
