Traffic disruption on the Uriah Butler Highway

by | Sep 8, 2014

NEWS GRAPHIC 3The Water and Sewerage Authority in collaboration with the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure has advised road users and members of the general public of traffic restrictions.
These will occur on the Uriah Butler Highway, in the vicinity of Ramlal Trace, Caroni, from 8:00 pm on Friday 12th September, to 8:00 am on Saturday 13th September 2014.
WASA says that this has become necessary in order to carry out pipe-laying works associated with the Caroni South Trunk Main Dualling Project.
Motorists are advised that during the period of the restrictions, traffic along the north bound lanes of the Uriah Butler Highway, will be diverted through the Surveillance Bay, onto a single lane on the south bound side of the highway.
Traffic will then re-enter the north bound lanes of the highway through another Surveillance Bay located 850 meters away.
Motorists are asked to pay close attention to the traffic signs, proceed with caution in the vicinity of the jobsite and observe the instructions of Police Officers on duty.
The Authority apologises for the inconvenience and thanks the public for its cooperation and understanding.
