Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has confirmed receipt of communication from internet service provider, Google, through the Central Authority of Trinidad and Tobago on the matter that has come to be commonly referred to as ’email-gate’.
In a statement issued by the Trinidad and Tobago Police service this afternoon, it is noted that the information contained in the communication is voluminous in nature and the alleged emails are being analyzed by the TTPS to determine their authenticity.
The police service says the information was provided by Google following a request made via the Central Authority.
Today, Police Commissioner Stephen Williams, has once again given the assurance that the outcome of the investigation will be made public in due course.
The correspondence stems from the launch of an investigation into alleged email transactions attributed to the email accounts of several senior government officials in May 2013.
