Reggae artist, Buju Banton has been released from the McRae Correctional Facility in Georgia.

Video has surfaced of the artiste being released by ICE officials and subsequently boarding an aircraft.

The 45 year old Grammy Award-winning artiste, whose given name is Mark Myrie, was arrested on conspiracy to possess cocaine charges in 2009 and later sentenced to 10 years in prison.

He was originally slated to be released tomorrow.

Glenroy Watson – close friend and promoter of the I Am Legend Concert to be held in Trinidad, next year, spoke with News Power Now this afternoon. He gave News Power Now’s Melissa Stanislaus insight into tomorrow’s planned Reunification Roadshow, explaining that the event will celebrate Buju’s life and his positive music.

When asked about the petition started by The Woodbrook Residents Association, Watson  maintained that this is a special moment not only for T&T but the wider Caribbean.
