Trinidad and Tobago women’s football team receives cash incentives

Female SocaTrinidad and Tobago Women Soca Warriors received their $50,000 cash incentives from the Government ahead of their do or die match against Ecuador.

Technical staff of also received as cash reward for the teams fourth place finish in the CONCACAF World Cup.

Cheques were presented at the Diplomatic Center, St Ann’s yesterday.

Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar told the team that a victory against the South American team can create history.

The PM reminisced on Trinidad and Tobago’s campaigns against the US for the 1990 World Cup and success in qualifying for the 2006 championships.

She told the team they must do their best, adding that a draw is not enough.

PM Persad-Bissessar told the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association that they must do their best to ensure that teams is funded appropriately.

She also called on the nation to support its women warriors.
