T&T Bans Visit From Nationals of Ebola Struck Territories in West Africa

This country has joined the list of countries in the region that have placed a ban on nationals from Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea as a precaution against the deadly Ebola virus.

The same restrictions have been implemented in St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Grenada is contemplating a similar ban.

The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that nearly 4500 people have died from the Ebola virus during the current outbreak, the majority of those in West Africa.

Speaking at the weekly news briefing held at the Office the Prime Minister, St. Clair on Thursday afternoon , Health Minister , Dr Fuad Khan, said the decision to impose travel restrictions on visitors coming from countries affected by Ebola has the backing of the entire cabinet.
