The United Nations Security Council is expected to take a vote on a resolution aimed at weakening Islamic State militants by choking off funding and the flow of foreign fighters.
The vote is scheduled for this Friday.
Ahead of the vote PM Persad-Bissessar said Government is looking carefully at the motion before taking a stance.
Trinidad and Tobago is not a member of the council therefore it cannot vote on the motion, however, it can co-sponsor the United States led initiative.
