Over 190,000 dollars is spent by the Trade and Industry Ministry in advertisements in Indian publications.
The expenditure took place before the official visit by Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar, to India in May 2012.
Trade and Industry Minister, Vasant Bharath, gave the update as he answered a question posed by the Opposition in the Senate today.
Minister Bharath said the money was spent to promote the various investment opportunities available in the country.
He said while there are encouraging signs from the expenditure to date no contractual arrangements have been finalized.
