TTPS Concerned by Recent Increase in Motorcycle Accidents and Fatalities

NEWS GRAPHIC 15The Trinidad and Tobago police service says it is concerned by the recent increase in motorcycle accidents and fatalities in this country. The service’s announcement comes on the heels of three recent motorcycle road fatalities.
The TTPS says Already for 2015 eight (8) motorcyclists have been killed in road traffic collisions as compared to nine (9) for the entire 2014.
Noting that Motorcyclists share some of the same vulnerability risks as bicyclists and pedestrians due to the fact that their mode of travel affords them no “protection” in a collision, the TTPS is reminding drivers of motor vehicles that they share the roadways with other motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians who also have an equal right of use.
The TTPS says for 2015 ninety five (95) people have lost their lives in road traffic crashes and they are calling on all motorists to exercise road practices that are within the laws of the land.
