President of the Trinidad and Tobago Police, Social and Welfare Association, Michael Seales is counteracting recent claims made by Law enforcement consultant and anti terrorism and firearms specialist, Paul Daniel Nahous that government is out gunned by gangs in this country.
Speaking in the topic this morning, in a News Power Now interview, Mr. Seales said the association believes a better partnership must be fostered between members of the public and the police service if crime is to be effectively combatted.
The senior police official made it clear that the Trinidad and Tobago police service is the only refuge to the population at large and urged nationals to trust the service.
For years, the Trinidad and Tobago police service has come under fire for harbouring rogue police officers. Mr. Seales and other senior officials within the force, have in recent time, assured citizens that all is being done to weed out these ill reputed officers.
