The government is defending its performance and management of the economy over the past five years.
Prime Minister, Kamla Persad Bissessar, speaking at the People’s Partnership’s fifth anniversary rally at Constantine Park, Macoya on Sunday, said the coalition administration has made strides in the fight against crime. She said her government has also improved the economic climate in the country as well as encouraged foreign investment.
She said going forward the government will continue to ensure the country’s resources are spent wisely and managed well.
The Prime Minister added that the country’s foreign exchange reserves stands at over 10 billion dollars and there are signs of more new businesses to be established.
Mrs. Persad Bissessar also warned supporters to be on guard for more attacks directed at the government.
