TTUTA President, Lindsay Doodhai is today lamenting the violence that still pervades in our nation’s schools.
This in light of an incident in which a student of the Signal Hill Secondary School, was seriously injured during a scuffle involving a group of boys on Wednesday.
Jaden was taken to the Scarborough General Hospital for treatment and subsequently to the Port of Spain General Hospital.
According to Schools Supervisor Sherry-Anne Hackett Jaden underwent surgery at the Port of Spain General Hospital on Wednesday night and is currently under observation.
The police are said to be investigating the incident.
Speaking to News Power Now this morning, Doodai condemned the incident describing it as unfortunate.
He said while teachers may seek to intervene to quell any disturbances this is not always possible.
