Outgoing TTUTA Tobago officer, Orlando Kerr says the Association condemns the actions of the parent caught beating a school child outside the compound of an East Tobago secondary school.
Speaking with News Power Now on Thursday morning, Mr. Kerr said the entire situation could have been avoided.
He says as far as the Association is aware the matter is being investigated by the police. However, he is uncertain as to whether or not the parents of the female victim, plan on pressing charges against the male attacker.
Mr. Kerr implored parents to use the structure set up in the school system to deal with issues affecting their children, including bullying.
He said he is aware that there are problems within the school system, but said there are other options available to parents if they feel dissatisfied.
