Teachers are strongly objecting to the installation of cameras in the staff room of the Belmont Boys Secondary School .
Reports indicated that the principal of the School said that the security equipment was installed because of irregularities that had been taking place in the staff room.
However in an interview with News Power Now this morning TTUTA’s President Devanand Sinanan revealed that it was never TTUTA’s intention that cameras be placed in staff rooms as a management tool for teachers.
He also sought to remind Principals of the need to follow protocol if they required cameras at their schools.
He further stated that he was unsure as to whether or not any protocols were adhered to in the case of the Belmont Secondary school.
