During the raid a total of six handguns were seized.
The exercise was spearheaded by Insp Mark Maharaj of the Tunapuna CID.
According to police reports, 11 people were arrested for having the six guns in their possession.
Four people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and 178 fixed penalty notices were handed out.
Reports also state that nine people were arrested for various outstanding offences, including ammunition possession, narcotics possession and robbery.
The 20 men and women arrested are expected to appear before a Tunapuna magistrate tomorrow.
