by | Aug 1, 2014

crime grapicA teenager and 22 year old man appeared before a Sangre Grande magistrate yesterday charged with murder of former school teacher and gardener John Ramoutar.

Reports identify the men as 19 year old Arnold Ashton and Lionel Clement.

The men were taken into custody a week ago.

The case was adjourned to August 28.

Mr. Ramoutar went missing on July 22 after he left his Manzanilla, home to tend to his crops a short distance away.

He was found dead three days later in a forested area near his home.

An autopsy said he died from a broken neck when his spinal cord was severed after receiving a blow to the face.
