Chairman of the Mayaro/ Rio Claro Regional Corporation Glen Ram has announced that he will be withdrawing his nomination for Local Government Elections on December 2nd.

The UNC member says while he remains committed to his party, and has given this assurance to Opposition Leader and party leader, Kamla Persad Bissessar, he is removing himself from the upcoming local government elections, because of a pending court matter, related to a bribery charge. He currently has a pending investigation into a bribery charge.

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said anyone who has a criminal charge against them, should never be sold bold faced, as to run for office in an election.
