Non Academic Workers at the University of the West Indies protested today as they demanded a wage increase.
The workers claim that despite meetings with the campus Principal and other administrators, workers have been denied adjustments to their salaries.
Executive Vice President of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU) Peter Burke said the University is taking workers for granted.
He noted that systems needed to be changed for the process of negotiations to move smoothly.
He went on to say that the workers are now at their wit’s end and are demanding an immediate resolution.
