UTT graduates protest in St.Clair

Graduates of the University of Trinidad and Tobago armed with plague cards gathered today at the Education Ministry’s St Clair head office to protest problems they face.

Some of their concerns are the timely appointment and upgrading of teachers to the teaching service and assessment of certification of students.

They claim after spending five years at UTT and being certified they were supposed to be assessed and upgraded.

However, they complain this was not done as the curriculum division identified areas that were not satisfactory and the content inadequate.

Speaking to News Power Authority earlier today, Second Vice President of Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association, Orville Carrington, says it’s critical the challenges facing the students are urgently addressed.
