There have been reports that one of the victims from Sunday’s race-car crash at Wallerfield needed four pints of O-positive blood up to last night.
Further reports state that two others remained in serious but stable condition at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex at Mt Hope.
Kavesh Sookhan, Amrika Armstrong, Tricia Persad and Jynelle Maharaj were admitted to the hospital following Sunday’s accident at the Frankie Boodram International Raceway in Wallerfield.
Media reports quoted vice president of the Trinidad and Tobago Automobile Sports Association Jameer Ali as saying that Sookhan required blood urgently and donors are being asked to visit any blood bank to make a donation.
However Rishi Canick confirmed with News Power Now that the situation has been rectified, with reference to the o positive blood.
Commenting on the status of the hospitalized victims a remorseful Canick stated that the information he received during his visit to the hospital yesterday was that all persons are still warded and are out of harm’s way.
