There is a warning for government to be careful of how it goes about restructuring the Unemployment Relief Programme.

The appeal comes from former Communications Consultant in the URP Lennox Smith.

Government maintains the programme has to be restructured to help improve its image, restore integrity and ensure it meet the persons it was originally set up for.

In recent time concerns have been raised about many people being displaced from the programme by the government.

Some complained the move is being carried out in an inhumane manner.

In a New Power Authority interview this afternoon, Lennox Smith, urged the coalition to ensure fairness and transparency are not compromised in seeking to refine the URP.

Mr.  Smith also commented on the plan by the Labour Ministry to set up a URP hotline system which will probe allegations of victimization and other challenges in the programme
