A contractor employed the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has been injured in a accident along the Beetham Highway.
53 year old Sookdeo Manboad, along with a group of WASA workers who were conducting the road works, was about to enter a truck belonging to the Authority when the van veered out of control and slammed into him.
He was reportedly thrown several feet along the roadway.
Manboad, who lives in Charlieville, had just opened the driver-side door of the truck, and was already halfway into the vehicle when the incident occurred.
The incident took place around 12.30 p.m., along the east-bound lane of the Highway.
Manboad was taken to Port of Spain General Hospital by Emergency Health Services (EHS) who arrived on the scene shortly after the incident.
