WASA gives 7pm today timeline to fix broken transmission main in Port of Spain.

wasa7PM today is the timeline being given by the Water and Sewerage Authority for the completion of emergency repairs to a broken main in the Capital City.

WASA explains that customers who are currently experiencing low pressures or no water supply that this is due to a broken 21″ transmission main, located along Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, in the vicinity of the Diego Martin Maxi-Taxi stand.

It adds that areas to be affected include the southern part of Port of Spain, including Wrightson Road, Independence square, as far north as Duke Street; Morvant and Barataria.

The utility explains that customers are advised that following the completion of repairs, it may take between 2 to 3 hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas.

The Authority has assigned additional water trucks to assist affected businesses in the Port of Spain area.

Meanwhile, Port of Spain Mayor, Keron Valentine, highlighted challenges with the regular supply of water in several communities during a City Council meeting this week.
