WASA states that there are no outstanding funds owed to AEF.

wasaThe Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said there are presently no outstanding funds owed to subcontracting firm AEF, after employees attempted to enter the new San Fernando site on Wednesday.

The Authority  confirmed that access to the Plant has been restored with no major disruption to ongoing works.

The company said it has been informed by AAA Wastewater Limited that there are no monies outstanding to the firm AEF.

WASA is currently engaged in the construction of a new San Fernando Wastewater Treatment Plant, at Riverside Road, San Fernando, as part of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) funded, Multi Phase Wastewater Rehabilitation Programme.

The project’s main contractor is AAA Wastewater Limited, a joint venture between Acciona Agua (Spain) and Atlatec (Mexico).

The authority said on Wednesday that employees from a subcontracting firm, AEF who recently completed works at the Plant, attempted to enter the site, but were prevented from doing so.
