Speakin in the Senate on Tuesday, recently appointed Public Utilities Minister, Fitzgerald Hinds said the water levels at the nation’s reservoirs are well below average. He was commenting on WASA’s inability to provide an adequate water supply to residents throughout the country.

Minister Hinds responded to an urgent question from Leader of Opposition Business Wade Mark about a lack of water supply to residents in the Penal/Debe region.

Saying this year’s and last year’s dry seasons are the cause, the Minister said production by the Caroni Waste Water Treatment Plant is now down by between 5 million and 8 million gallons a day.
