President of the Public Services Association, Watson Duke is calling on the Finance Minister to settle all outstanding back pay and salaries to its workers before the end of the year.
Speaking at a media conference this morning at the PSA’s Headquarters, Mr. Duke said that all Government workers including the armed forces ought to be paid outstanding money owed to them from 2016 to present on or before December 15th.
He is also calling on Government officials to partake in the purchase and use of local items and not support items bought internationally. This he says will aid in boosting T&T’s economy.
Mr. Duke said that while the move is to promote local, authorities themselves do not support the local merchant.
